Netflix says: Filled with geekdom and gore, this tongue-in-cheek, teen creature feature centers on a high school prom at which the living dead await a crowd of unsuspecting students. Unfortunately for the promgoers, the only ones who can save them from zombiehood are the losers who couldn't even get a prom date in the first place. Can the vastly different cliques band together long enough to defeat the living dead? Jared Kusnitz and Greyson Chadwick star.
Matt says: I wasn’t expecting much out of this and what I got was a pretty decent homage to 80s zombie, horror, and Troma flicks. It’s amateurish and there are inconsistencies (especially one of my pet peeves in zombie flicks: inconsistent zombie behavior. Sometimes they attack, sometimes not, sometimes they’re slow, other times they’re fast… pick a zombie type and stick with it)that keep this from being an awesome movie, but I would have to say this is better than most of the low budget/amateur zombie movies of late. You can tell the creators have seen Toxic Avenger, Class of Nuke'em High, Return of the Living Dead, as well as other classics many times from the dialog and characters. Worth checking out if you like the genre and want a throwback to those types of films. Oh, and make sure to check out the amusing short “VooDoo” on the DVD. 4 stars.
Marc says: Indie horror mixes Return of the Living Dead in with some high school drama and yields decent results. Gore quotient is quite satisfactory, there’s rock n’ roll music, and plenty of fan service to go around. The producer / director did a good job with casting, as most of the teen leads really look like they are in high school. A solid effort given the budget constraints, and you can tell it was made by fans of the genre. 3.5 stars.
